Bangkok has a well deserved reputation for being noisy and polluted, which makes it hard to believe that just a short boat ride across the Chao Phraya River brings you to an area of lush green vegetation and soothing silence. It is in this environment where you can enjoy a peaceful and enjoyable bicycle ride right inside Bangkok.

There are a number of companies offering bicycle tours in Bangkok as well as many other areas of Thailand. They range from half day tours to day trips to overnighters and even multi-day trips.

Regional Bangkok Biking offers a range of tours starting at 1000 baht for a 4 and a half hour “Colors of Bangkok” tour with excursions departing at 8 am and 1 pm daily. Prices include the rental of a quality bicycle, a Thai lunch, fruit and snacks, water and soft drinks, guide fee, longtail boat rides and a ride in a rickshaw.  For more information about this and their other tours, see their website, http://www.bangkokbiking.com

Bangkok Bike Rides is another company offering a number of trips, including daytrips to the floating markets, Koh Kret, Chinatown and a Bangkok Jungle tour. Overnight trips to the Floating Market, the Bridge over the River Kwai and the temples of Ayutthaya are also available. Check out their website for more info. http://www.bangkokbikerides.com/

If you think you have done every in Bangkok, this could be a unique way of experiencing parts of the city that many people do not see.
