Ancient Siam, a popular tourist attraction on the outskirts of Bangkok will be offering night tours over two weekends in May, commencing on the 7th, 8th and 9th, and again on the following weekend of the 14th, 15th and 16th. Night tours of the Erawan Museum will also take place from May 13th to 16th.
The tour starts with a buffet meal and show at the floating markets. Following dinner, participants board a tram and take the night tour around the park. There is another show midpoint in the tour.
Ancient Siam, or Muang Boran in Thai, is dubbed as the world’s largest outdoor museum.
From Wikipedia:
Situated close to the Crocodile Farm in Samut Prakan province, the 320-hectare city features 116 structures of Thailand’s famous monuments and architectural attractions. The grounds of Ancient Siam correspond roughly to the shape of the Kingdom, with each of the monuments lying at their correct places geographically. Some of the buildings are life-size replicas of existing or former sites, while others are scaled down.

Even if you don’t make it in time to visit for one of these rare night tours, Ancient Siam is certainly well worth a day during your next trip to Thailand. It is considered by some to be one of Bangkok’s best kept secrets and I highly recommend it.
Considering the size of the park and the fact that it is not so well known to tourists, one could spend the day wandering around the map of Thailand marveling at the beautiful reconstructions and scale models soaking up the history of Thailand and hardly come across anther soul.
Take a picnic lunch and your camera and enjoy your day trip around Thailand while experiencing many cultural artifacts that most tourists wouldn’t see in a month in Thailand.
